Green Steps is a Danish trio performing Irish dancing in an individualistic stile inspired by traditional Irish dancing, Riverdance, and Sean Nós.
The trio is the only professionally working Irish dancing group in Denmark. Currently working solo and in cooperation with the Copenhagen based traditional Irish bands Trad Lads and Ash Plant.
Marianne Green Marianne Green has developed her Irish dancing through workshops with Tony Nolan (TCRG ADCRG), Sarah Clark TCRG (Lead Dancer with Lord of the Dance), Ronan McCormack (TCRG ADCRG, Ex, lead in Riverdance, Patrick ODea, the Michael Dillon Summer school and The Ronan McCormack Summer School). A great inspiration has been dancing sessions with singer and song writer Jimmy Johnston from Dundalk, 2 times World Champion of Irish dancing in 1978 and 1980 the first time beating Michael Flately.
Marianne Green has performed in venues such as: Tivolis Koncertsal, Eugen Tajmers Presentationsshow in Falkoner scenen, Bordaux Irish Festival France, Teatro Astral Buenos Aires, Copenhagen Irish Festival , UN- Day Københavns Rådhus, Livsstilsfestival Ledreborg Slot, Travel Mart in Bella Center Copenhagen.,Corporate events in Denmark. Concert venues all over Denmark including Strib festival, Tobakken, Esbjerg, Støberihallen Fredericia, a dance display at Tønder Festival with Musicians from Altan. Skien and Bodø in Norway, Irish Festival Calmar, Sweden. Belgian Mirror tent in Lund, Sweden. Most Gigs Dancing for irish bands Trad Lads and Ash Plant. Julie Moerk Julie Moerk has learnt Irish dancing through work shops with Maire Clerkin TCRG, Sarah Clark TCRG (Lead Dancer with Lord of the Dance), Patrick ODea, the Michael Dillon Summer school and The Ronan McCormack Summer School. She has participated in the Nordic Feis (Irish dancing Competition), this year placing at number three in the advnced level treble reel. Julie Moerk is an accomplished teacher in Irish dancing and is aiming on taking a certified teachers exam (TCRG).
Julie has Performed in Venues such as Tivolis Koncertsal, Livstilsfestival Ledreborg, Whiskymessen, Kolding and Slagelse and Copenhagen. Corporate events, Julie Moerk teaches at the Dark Green School of Irish Dancing
Christian Hagemann Christian Hageman has been taught Irish dancing with Julie Moerk and has also practiced tap dancing.. He has great enthusiasm and talent in Irish dancing and is one of the few male Irish dancers in Denmark.
