LUNDGAARD - QUIST MØLLER - HAUGAARD - RIISHEDE
Puls (GB: "Pulse") is a new constellation of four of Denmark's best folkmusicians.
For some years Puls was a duo, Carl Erik Lundgaard & Flemming Quist Møller, two experienced musicians, who had known each other since the late sixties. Diatonic accordion, bongo and darbouca Danish folk music, both traditional and contemporary, spiced with flavours from Turkey and Eastern Europe as well as fresh innovations, played with equilibristic and virtous musicality. Of course this had to be recorded.
The duo, wanting musical assistance, invited the young fiddler Harald Haugaard. He did not just knock on the back door, he bashed in the front door. Then bass player Mads Riishede kicked the backdoor open. This brings breeze and fresh air through the house. Puls is the tension between new and old, experience and new roads, all wrapped in musicality, imagination and virtuosity.
The musicians are all known from many other Danish folkbands like Danish Dia Delight, Sorten Muld, Bazaar, Dug, Lang Linken etc.
Puls perform at venues and festivals in Denmark as well as abroad in 1999.
