Schlechte Kapelle was founded in 1996 by Ronen Thalmay Waniewitz and Henrik Goldschmidt, and very soon become an institution in danish-jewish musical life.
To begin with the musicians played klezmer music at private gatherings and in the synagogue, but now they play just as much as a concert orchestra at festivals, for chamber music societies and at jazz and folk-music clubs.
Henrik Goldschmidt – oboe, obo d´amore, marimba, piano, vocal Educated at the Karavan Academy in Berlin. Since 1986 solo oboist in The Royal Danish Orchestra.
Vladimir Landa – violin, vocal Russian born violinist, came to Denmark via Israel and is today a member of The Royal Danish Orchestra.
Henrik Schou – double-bass, vocal Educated at The Royal Academy of Music in Copenhagen. Plays in the Danish Radio Symphony Orchestra.
Ronen Thalmay Waniewitz – piano, vocal Educated at the Royal Academy of Music in Copenhagen. Works as a pianist and composer.
