Billy Cross will release a solo record in the
middle of March after a twenty year pause. “Life Is Good” is the title and the songs (all written by BC) reflect just that. Energetic rock and roll, intelligent ballads and love
songs and mature political texts make up the 12 new compositions about to be released. In conjunction with the release, Billy and his new band will be playing a number of gigs during the spring and
summer building up to an autumn tour.
The new live band will be playing the new numbers from “Life Is Good” as well as the hits he recorded in the 80’s with The Delta
Cross Band and from his first solo record: Six Days on the Road, Legionnaires Disease, Rave On, Crazy Glue, I Must Be in Love and others.
Obviously Billy has not been idle during the time between his recorded solo albums. He has released two Delta Cross Band CD’s, Tough Times and Dirty Tracks produced
Dr. Hook, Björn Afzelius’ Tusin Bittar, Johnny Madsen, Lars Lilholt, Dalton, Jette Torp, Søs Fenger and many other Danish artists and played hundreds of concerts with his Trio, Cross Schack and Ostermann, as well as performing with a new Trio,
Everybody’s Talking, with Jimmy Colding, the singer from Zididada.
Generally regarded as a guitar hero, as a songwriter Billy has also been active all
these years. He co-wrote the songs on C.V. Jorgensen’s Tidens Tern, penned Take Me Back for Bonnie Tyler on her Faster Than the Speed of Night record, wrote
Voldsom Volvo and Sonny Soufflé and did the music for the film Russian Pizza Blues. He feels that the songs on his new CD are the best he has written yet.
