Phamous Phaces began in the early months of 1986 as a club band doing mostly covers. After several years on the
"circuit" the band went through some member changes, finally settling on the current lineup in 1989. Another year passed and the band decided to split up, with each member going separate ways.
This was not to be the end of the band, in fact it was really the beginning. In 1993 Phamous Phaces became a band again, this time doing their own music.
The Portland, Oregon-based quartet began playing shows around the Northwest and quickly built a strong
reputation. In August 1994 the band began work on their debut album entitled Worlds Apart which was released in April of 1995.
Two songs off of this album also earned the right for the band to participate in the 1995 Ticketmaster
Music Showcase as one of 185 bands chosen nationwide out of over 10,000 entries. They have opened shows for Rick Derringer, Foghat, Quiet Riot, and Starship, among others. It was through the shows with
the Starship that the band met up with guitarist Suite 420 on Bink Records.
The music and magic of the band is unmistakeable for anyone who has seen or heard them, and their appeal
has propelled Phamous Phaces into the international music scene in 1997 with radio airplay and a successful tour in Denmark.
The band has a wide variety of influences ranging from the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Cheap Trick and
Aerosmith, but has carved out their own distinctive sound. The sound of the band has been compared with the Beatles and while no one will ever top the Fab Four, Phamous Phaces evokes the same emotional
connection through their music.
The future holds no limits for the band as there has been label interest both in the USA and in Europe,
where a distribution deal is currently being negotiated. A recording contract is surely the next step in the Phamous Phaces phenomenon!!
