the story so far in short...
The odessey named Separations emerged in 1999 when old high school friends
Jon Auring and Rasmus Gottliebsen met by accident and decided to form a band. They teamed up with Uffe Kaels (keyboards) and Christian Winther (bass) who was quickly replaced by Martin. Not long after
Separations got their first big break. In 1999 they won the music contest 'We've got the stage - Do you have the music?' ('Vi har scenen -Har i musikken?'). Getting accepted for the contest came as a
surprise and later when they went on to win the entire thing Separations were left speechless.
So after dozens of auditions Morten Nielsen was picked as the new drummer of Separations. When
bassplayer Martin left in 2000 René Christensen soon joined the group. The sound of pounding live drums and René's punk influenced basslines gave the band a new and rocking edge, which was reflected in
their live shows.
During the summer of 2002 longtime member Uffe Kaels left the band to work on other projects. Separations however did not dwell upon the loss and simply bought a harddisc
recorder to make all the blips and blops. In the time to come Separations enjoyed great success throughout the country.
Amongst the highlights was the opening of Aarhus Festuge, the concert at
Fermaten and of course playing support for swedish band The Ark at Train in Aarhus.
Separations is on the move. Join them on their journey in time and music. Experience their warm embrace and let
them love you.
