Pianist and singer Esben Just is 33 years old and live in the heart of Copenhagen. He has been visiting New Orleans two months every year since ´89 and has made the city his second hometown. Everywhere he starts playing his honky tonk piano, people wants him back and wonders;

How can he be so white and so fønky.

Drummer Søren "Blackfoot" Frost, 34 years old. Also a regular visitor in New Orleans and is playing in "the ambassador of New Orleans" Lilian Bouttes band. In Denmark he has been playing with nearly everybody, and from autumn ´99 he´s sitting behind the drums in the world famous "Danish Radio bigband". In New Orleans they gave him the indian nickname "Blackfoot". Listen to the album and find out why.

SP: Henrik Schou Poulsen, 33 years old. He has made his living by playing music since 1985 and one of the most used studio and livemusicians around Copenhagen. He is also known to the New Orleans, and got down on Mardi Gras day with the indians singing; Shallow Water Mama. If there is anything Fønky in the state of Denmark, it has to be him.

SP-JUST-FROST, has been playing together since a visit to New Orleans in jan ´98, where they found out that they had to play secondline beats on a regular basis. Back in Copenhagen (CPH) they played as many gigs as possible, and sure enough, the danish people loved it. The album was recorded in Nov ´98, followed by a tour to the US in jan ´99, playing gigs in Key West and New Orleans.
